JFUNK has been a part of the Arizona music scene for nearly two decades! Originally created in a small city in Northern Arizona, Flagstaff. The band now ranges from New York City trained jazz musicians, classically trained orchestral musicians, and Arizona's most prominent DIY-scene seasoned musicians. Jessie Demaree (Clarinetist and Bandleader) created this artistic venture from her masters degree recital, quickly transforming into one of the most prominent voices of psychedelic, cultural, and experimental music in Arizona. Demaree's brain child has now performed in nearly half of the entire country! All of this could not have been done without her partner in crime and funk and all that other stuff, Chris Del Favero (Lead Guitar, Vocalist, Artistic Director, Sex Symbol). Del Favero and Demaree met in Northern Arizona and quickly decided to leave their lives in the U.S and live in South America for numerous years studying the music, the people, and the cultures that drive the world in Latin America. From there the real JFUNK.WORLD is born and now has housed countless artists in their artist residency and have inspired countless more with their spirit and love for music, art, and education. ​

Their latest album, Jfunk, harnesses years of touring and performing into a concise and newer sound for the band. Recorded in Oracle, Arizona, in the acclaimed Oracle Recording Studio on the historic dude ranch Rancho Linda Vista. Head audio engineer Austin Owen helped the band cut a completely analog LP that pays tribute to the funk masters of legend, the Arizona desert, and to the bands' enormous record collection that spans Ethiopian funk, Thai groove, Coltrane avant-garde, Brazilian vibes, Colombian cumbia, Yiddish wedding music, and a Middle-Eastern club vinyl-set.
